Welcome to Restart Coaching.
My name is Trystan Nolan, founder of Restart Coaching, where I help athletes, professionals and individuals achieve exceptional performance, sustainable weight loss and long-term health through evidence-based strength and conditioning and performance psychology.
Having competed as a semi-professional athlete myself, I understand the demands of balancing training, competition, recovery and everyday life. I know first-hand the challenges athletes face when pursuing peak performance and the discipline required to continually improve. This experience allows me to relate to my clients on a practical level while combining real-world understanding with scientific expertise.
My passion has always been helping people unlock their potential. Whether that means improving athletic performance, recovering confidence after injury, achieving sustainable weight loss, or developing the mindset needed to perform under pressure, I take great pride in seeing positive and lasting changes in the people I work with.

To complement my physical performance expertise, I completed a BPS-accredited MSc in Psychology, with a focus on Health Psychology.
My Master's research focused on self-efficacy following bariatric surgery and explored the psychological factors influencing long-term health behaviour change. This work deepened my understanding of motivation, adherence, confidence, identity and sustainable lifestyle transformation.

Using evidence-based behaviour change strategies, including the Stages of Change Model and self-efficacy principles, I help clients build sustainable habits rather than relying on short-term solutions.
This approach is particularly effective for individuals who have experienced repeated dieting cycles, weight regain or significant life transitions.
